Anchor Cafe

Sam's of Tiburon originally established in 1920 is a legacy restaurant the Roy team had the honor of working on. Being on the water the space has incredible bones and the history of Sam's sparked a depth of design inspiration they could pull from. With a layered nautical color palette of navy blues, off white creams and warm wood tones the space feels completely connected to the boating culture of the Bay.

The original art deco back bar was restored and beautiful blue terrazzo floors with brass inlay were poured throughout the space. In order to connect the dining room to the deck a large glass door wall system was installed creating a beautiful indoor outdoor sensibility. Roy worked with Galanter & Jones to design a heated wrap around bench seat to the deck to extend the use of the outdoor space beyond sunset! Touches of brass, vintage photographs and lighting and an exposed original redwood ceiling create this modern boat house design and a space that the bay area can enjoy for years to come.
