Hi-Fi Wines

Mother and Daughter duo and Merced natives approached ROY with a dream of a wine shop that reminded them of their stints in NY or SF. A high end experience that felt as relaxed and casual as Merced itself was critical to the success of this concept.  Their old hi-fi record player took center stage for the concept and the name and we began to design around it as the centerpiece of the room. Luxurious lounge moments and playful oversized communal seating balanced the space to feel more like a living room than a restaurant. Chartreuse fireclay tile catches your eye upon entry and thoughtful details like the one of a kind green lamp, owner’s personal art collection and playful bathroom wallpaper allow this sweet shop to not take itself too seriously. Bold brass moments and warm burl help soften the space along with a residential size area rug and structured, uniform retail shelving all combine to create a  shop-able but highly organized and easy to navigate experience.
