Ingo’s Diner
A second location of a Phoenix burger favorite takes on a new look with the same mid century roots.
Ingo’s tasty food is a fine casual burger restaurant in Phoenix, AZ that serves incredibly delicious burgers, sandwiches, salads and cocktails. The original location has a beautiful architectural design and leans heavily into the uniqueness of the curved building to anchor its design language. ROY was tasked with taking this concept into its second location which would be downtown and a new construction, aluminum storefront with not a lot of character. The client’s concern was how do we create a warm, inviting setting through interior decisions that makes the two spaces feel connected? By keeping a midcentury thread to our choices, and making sure the emotional layering of what makes Ingo’s so special stayed intact we were able to achieve a second location that feels just as special as the first. Soft lighting, earthen tiles, textural warm wood finishes and mixed metals really bring the place to life. Color was also very important to the client and making sure we integrated the brand colors in a comfortable, engaging way helped to keep the space bright and airy.
