In an incredibly challenging, narrow space, Velvet 48 truly came into its own out of necessity to problem solve for the existing conditions. A beautiful woven fabric and light installation hangs from the ceiling of the long entryway where we needed to find a reason to lure guests to the back of the space from the street level entry. The soft flowing fabric continues to dance throughout the room as it partitions the retail space from the wine bar and can be utilized for private events or to keep the front area open for retail while the wine bar isn’t. The need for flexibility was key and so all of the furniture was designed to be modular and can be reworked into many different configurations, keeping the space shoppable while also balancing a high end wine bar experience for guests. A custom temperature controlled wine room grounds the corner in luxury and rich velvet textures layer in to add to the ambiance.
